Clinics

Overview

PVPGSL is committed to the development of our softball players in our community.  Aligned with the regular seasons and programs we offer, we organize small-group clinics for our players to get coaching and skills development from some professional coaches in our area.

In 2019 and 2020, we are pushing this forward with renewed vigor.  We are launching our 2019/2020 Development Clinic Series - a once or twice per month series devoted to getting our girls the best coaching out there.  We believe that that a strong league first starts with its players, so anything we can do to help them develop is singularly important.

Look to up top to find out when the next clinic is – and register to come.  We hope to see you at every single one.

D ON THE DIAMOND!

PVPGSL is very lucky to be able to bring in Tony Medina to teach two weeks of clinics this March.

This is not to be missed.  Constructed separately for both the younger and older age groups, the Medina Softball Clinics will not only help your daughter improve on her DEFENSIVE skills, it will challenge and inspire her while providing her with an energetic program that will have her asking for more.

We also recommend that coaches and parents come to watch how Tony runs a practice and engages his players so that it can be incorporated into your regular practices.  Watch, take video, ask questions - he is there to help PVPGSL improve in many ways.

We are making these two dates extra special by opening the Snack Shack so we can all have Dinner on the Diamond!  There will be the usual fare plus a number of specialty items to enjoy with your friends.

Here are the specifics:

(Click on the specific dates to register)

As is our usual policy, a donation on the day of the clinic of $10 per player is requested to help offset the cost of bringing in professional outside help.  Clinics are independent from each other...meaning: separate registration for each, and no requirement to attend both - but highly encouraged.

Even if you have not done any other clinics, this one is a must.

Coach Nicolle Hair

Nicolle Hair is the owner of One in the Circle Pitching School. She started pitching lessons at 5 years old and has loved it ever since. Nicolle played league until 10 years old and then moved to travel ball, and also played high school varsity at South Torrance High.  Unfortunately, Nicolle hurt her right shoulder in her senior year and was unable to go further in her softball career as a player. But she resiliently turned a negative into a positive, and is now teaching girls how to become strong, confident athletes, and young ladies.  Nicolle gives lessons in her training facility in Torrance and has been giving lessons and doing clinics since 2010; she is loving every minute of it. Either in her lane or on the field, Nicolle hopes the girls have a great spring season.
