Clinics

Overview

PVPGSL is committed to the development of our softball players in our community.  Aligned with the regular seasons and programs we offer, we organize small-group clinics for our players to get coaching and skills development from some professional coaches in our area.

In 2019 and 2020, we are pushing this forward with renewed vigor.  We are launching our 2019/2020 Fall Development Clinic Series - a once or twice per month series devoted to getting our girls the best coaching out there.  We believe that that a strong league first starts with its players, so anything we can do to help them develop is singularly important.

Look to up top to find out when the next clinic is – and register to come.  We hope to see you at every single one.

Rachel Allen

PVHS - Class of 2021

Catcher/3B/1B

Will be continuing her academic & softball career at University of Notre Dame in 2021 on a softball scholarship (committed in 2017)

Athletic Accomplishments:

  • Played PVPGSL for 5 seasons (2008-2012)
  • Favorite PVPGSL memory/experience (as told by her Mom, Jill):

“Oh that’s easy...it was Father’s day, her first year on All Stars (she youngest on team playing with girls two grades older), she had spent up to that point the entire AS season sitting on the bench and finally got the chance to rotate in to play an inning in the outfield. It was against extremely tough competition in the Glendora Tournament. The opposing batter hit a bomb to the outfield and Rachel went back and ran backwards trying to track the ball. She fell flat on her back and from her back raised up her arm with ball in the glove…and became a game saving moment. It was the best - she got to rotate innings with the other outfielders from that point on. A lot can be learned from not playing every inning and earning playing time.  Thanks, that just made me cry again!  PVPGSL is where it all started!”

  • Credits Coach Kristen Denton in PVPGSL for starting her catching…was love at first sight

Hannah Allen

PVHS – Class of 2022

3B/SS/1B

Athletic Accomplishments

  • Played PVPGSL for 7 seasons (2007-2013)
  • Favorite PVPGSL memory/experience (as told by her Mom, Jill):

“In 10U she played both 10U and up into 12U (to fill a spot on a roster for the season). She would literally run from her 10U game, across the field – change her jersey – and play in her 12U game that was just starting. On her 10U team, she used this crazy fastball and a mean change-up, and had a lot of great teammates…ultimately winning the championship that season. But the best part of the experience, was the innocence and effort of the players – including the creation of the team name: “Screaming Yellow Zonkers” – don’t ask! She absolutely loved her time in the league and still remembers so many experiences and great times!”
