Dear 2021/2022 PVPGSL Community,
It is my pleasure to continue to serve as your President for the 2021-2022 season. My name is Courtney Klink, and this is my family’s 8th year in the league and my 7th year on the board. As many of you know, my daughter, Cady, started in 6U and now will be playing her second year of 12U. As we continue to work through the constant changes in our world these days, know that myself and our 2021-2022 Board will continue to provide a recreational league that supports your daughter in learning and continuing to play softball! We look forward to what is in store this season.
I first want to thank a few people who devoted tirelessly to our league and who have retired from our board. – Jennifer Craig and Jeff Ottaway. Jenn has worked on our Board for years but is now transitioning only to coaching. Jeff and his wife Sandy have helped for years in our league. Jeff always managed a team and Sandy helped in the snack shack. Jeff has been a staple on our board for many years while his daughter played in the league and then continued even after she graduated and supported his nieces in the league. Thank you all for your efforts. You will be missed!
Last year we had an incredible turnout with our spring practice pods that we were fortunate, with the lifting of county restrictions, to get in a full season of games. Our successes from spring have led to one of our biggest fall ball seasons yet! We will continue to ensure our fields are in great shape and this fall we have replaced all the pitching lanes at Cornerstone.
The incoming board has already been working hard to build upon the success in 2020/2021. We will continue (as permitted by County and school district regulations) to focus on player development and coach/manager development. I know last year due to restrictions we couldn’t do some of the fun stuff, but we are hoping that this year we will continue to do the fun stuff, like opening day and closing day. And if permitted, college and High School days, too!
As this is an all-volunteer league, we not only need an engaged board, but also active parent/family volunteers who can be managers, coaches and fill other critical volunteer roles. Board meetings are held monthly, and any parent or volunteer is welcome to join the meeting. (Feel free to contact me at: president@pvpgsl.org)
In the meantime, please keep helping us recruit for the spring season and share your ideas on how to make PVPGSL even better.
